About our club

Nailsea Bowls Club is one of the many social club activities based at the Mizzymead Recreation Centre and has been here since 1969. 

Total membership is now around 80 and continues to grow we hold regular Open Days for people new to bowls to give it a try  

New members to our clubs benefit from an introductory first years membership fee discounted by 50%.

Our Leagues

Nailsea Bowls Club is fully involved in a number of local leagues including (men) Clevedon & District and Weston Triples over 55 leagues, as  well as a Wednesday evening Clevedon & District league and (Ladies) Weston & District and DRT triples league. Recently we have joined the North Somerset Mixed league as our membership continues to grow  

The men currently enters two teams into the Somerset County League, also Individual members (men & ladies) bowl for Somerset County in inter county friendly matches and some enter the National competitions.

Throughout the summer we play various clubs and touring sides in friendly matches (men, ladies & mixed teams)

Coaching

Nailsea Bowls Club welcome players of all standards from experienced County bowlers to complete novices. Full coaching from qualified coaches is available to all members. New members are especially welcome and experienced coaches run introductory sessions throughout the summer outdoor season.
