About our club

Nailsea Bowls Club is one of the many social club activities based at the Mizzymead Recreation Centre and has been here since 1969. We are two clubs, Men's and Ladies, but are closely involved together with Social events, Friendly matches, visiting Touring Clubs and away tours, offering many opportunities for mixed play involving both clubs.

The men's club membership currently is in the order of 50 men, the Ladies have around 20 members and all age groups and experience levels are welcome to both.

New members to our clubs benefit from an introductory first years membership fee discounted by 50%.

Our Leagues

Nailsea Bowls Club is fully involved in both Clevedon & District and Weston Triples Leagues, as well as a Wednesday evening Clevedon & District two wood league.

Our club currently enters two teams into the Somerset County League. Individual members bowl for Somerset County in inter county friendly matches.

Nailsea Ladies compete in the Mendip and DRT leagues together with many friendly competitions.

Coaching

Nailsea Bowls Club welcome players of all standards from experienced County bowlers to complete novices. Full coaching from qualified coaches is available to all members. New members are especially welcome and experienced coaches run coaching sessions  are available throughout the summer outdoor season.
